We broadcast the Olympic Games and promote a healthy lifestyle
Czech Television, formerly Czechoslovak Television, has been associated with Olympic events since 1956. Since then it has been broadcasting events from the Olympic Games, and most recently acquired broadcasting rights until 2024. “Czech Television is a key partner for us in the communication of the Olympic Games and Czech athletes. It is becoming increasingly difficult to obtain rights on the television market and we are working together to ensure that the viewer has the best possible experience of the Olympic Games and gets to see as many Czech athletes as possible,” says Jiří Kejval, President of the Czech NOC.
Czech Television brings viewers closer to events, runs interviews from the studio at the Czech House, and also has a presence at the Olympic Festivals.
But that’s not all. It’s the general media partner of the Czech Olympic Foundation, and broadcasts hours of footage from the National Youth Sport Festival. It is also involved in children’s sports through its reports from the Sazka Olympic School Sport Program, which is also supported by ČT:D. It also supported a healthy lifestyle through the “Stronger for Life” campaign and, for example, the Olympic mini-shows, which emphasize the importance of exercise and sport, and which are promoted by Czech Television across a variety of channels. In January 2021 the Olympic Magazine joint project on the ČT Sport channel reached its five hundredth episode.
